Most Anticipated TV Series Coming Back with New Seasons
Starting for the 2nd week of January, some of the most highly anticipated TV series will be returning to our screens with new seasons.
From “This is Us” to “Stranger Things”, here are the top 8 that we at least can’t wait to see!
1. This is Us [Season 6]
This Is Us is a popular American drama television series. It started airing on NBC in 2016. The show has captured the hearts of millions of people all over the world and caused many to shed copious amounts of tears.
The story revolves around the lives of three siblings Randall, Kevin, and Kate who had the most amazing parents, Jack and Rebecca. The best love story of all time is the one between Jack and Rebecca. Girls, who doesn’t want a husband like Jack?
Everybody who has an interest in human behavior should watch this show. There’s always something new to learn about the characters in this show.
After the previous 5 seasons made a lot of noise, the last season of the show is dropping in 2022. Fans are sad that the show is ending, but are excited about the last season.
A few episodes from the last season of “This Is Us” have already premiered on HBO starting from Jan 4 and the first episode is already available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
For those of you who haven’t watched the show at all, trust me you would love it.

2. Stranger Things 4 [Season 4]
Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror drama TV series that airs on Netflix.
The series is set in the 1980s and follows the adventures of the kids as they investigate the disappearance of their friend, Will Byers in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. At the same, a young girl with supernatural powers, Eleven from “The Upside Down” (alternate dimension) joins them in their quest.
The show has unending mysteries that will keep you guessing till the end. Season 4 is coming on Netlfix with its mysteries left to be unlocked in early 2022. The love this show has got is crazy. It has been honored with 38 Emmy nominations, including three for Outstanding Drama.
On IMDb, Stranger Things scored 8.7 out of 10 and 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.
3. After-life [Season 3]
The life of Tony Johnson, a newspaper writer, turns upside down after his wife dies from breast cancer. Devasted, he contemplates suicide but instead decides to live his life by making other people’s lives as miserable as he possibly can, saying and doing whatever he wants, no matter how it makes other people feel.
It was his way of punishing the world for his wife’s death. His plan is sabotaged when everyone around him pities him and tries to make him a better person, even though he thinks of this as his “superpower”. The first two seasons of the show were well-received and the show is now ready for its third season.
Season 3 of After Life would be premiering on Netflix on 14 January 2022.
This amazing TV series, After-Life is rated 8.4 out of 10 on IMDb and is scored 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
4. The Boys [Season 3]
Another anticipated TV series on this list is “The Boys”. It is about a group of teenagers who are super-powered individuals and therefore, heroes to the general public. They work for the powerful corporation Vought International, which markets and monetizes them.
Even more interesting is the fact that there are two teams in the show, Vought’s premier superhero team, and the Boys, vigilantes looking to bring down Vought and its corrupt superheroes.
The third season of Boys 3 would be released on Amazon Prime Video on June 3, 2022.
The Boys is rated 8.7 out of 10 on IMDb and 41% on Rotten Tomatoes.
5. Bridgerton [Season 2]
The Bridgertons are a close-knit family of eight children living in London society. They are looking for love and happiness but are not above using their considerable charms to get what they want.
The series is based on the bestselling novels by Julia Quinn, which follows the courting adventures of eight wealthy siblings. If you’re looking for a Netflix recommendation, this is it. Even though the show is a period drama, it explores some contemporary issues. It’s perfect for an entertaining watch.
Bridgerton is up for three major awards at the 2021 Emmys: Best Drama, Best Actor (Regé-Jean Page), and Directing for a Drama Series (Julie Anne Robinson).
Season 2 will be premiering on Netflix on March 25, of this most anticipated TV series of 2022. The show scored 7.3 out of 10 on IMDb and 72% on Rotten Tomatoes.
6. Made in Heaven [Season 2]
Made in Heaven is a romantic drama series that premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. The show became immensely popular and received great positive responses from both audience and critics.
With the different weddings that the two protagonist wedding planners plan, we get a glimpse into the hypocrisy of big fat Indian weddings.
Fans are eagerly waiting for another season. We have good news! Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti are expected to return for Season 2 in 2022 on Amazon Prime Video.

7. Asur 2 [Season 2]
Another most anticipated TV series which left an indelible mark in the minds of the audience is Asur: Welcome To Your Dark Side.
This Indian TV series is set in the city of Varanasi and revolves around Nikhil Nair, forensic expert, played by Arshad Warsi, who turns into a teacher. He finds himself back at the CBI office caught up in a cat-and-mouse game with a brutal serial killer.
It’s an intriguing show that keeps you hooked throughout. The show won Indian bagged the Landmark OTT Awards at Indian Television Academy Awards 2021. The show was nominated for various categories at the Asian Television Awards and Filmfare OTT Awards.
The most-awaited Season 2 of Asur is expected in 2022 on Voot Select
Asur scored 8.5 out of 10 on IMDb.
8. Euphoria [Season 2]
The American teen drama series Euphoria is based on the life of Rue Bennett, a 17-year old teenager who returned from rehab after being overdosed but begins to buy drugs from her friend, Fezco.
In order to stop the dreary existence from clouding her days, she regularly puts herself in dangerous situations. These are not euphoric situations, but rather, she does them because she wants to feel nothingness.
Zendaya, the American actress, who plays Rue in “Euphoria” is widely applauded for her performance. It’s a shocking dark drama series, but it’s very well-written.
Get ready for another emotional journey! The second season is set to premiere on Disney + Hotstar on January 9, 2022.
